Aviation Nation, sometimes referred to as America’s Air Show, is the annual air show of the United States Air Force. The show is hosted at Nellis Air Force Base in November of each year.
Being held at Nellis means that the Thunderbirds usually perform at this air show at their home base as their last show of the year. Since Nellis is the leading Air Force combat training center, the show is able to feature the newest Air Force Aircraft like the F-22 Raptor.

The largest free public event in Nevada was held at Nellis Air Force Base on Nov. 13-14, 2010 when the U.S. Air Force hosted Aviation Nation 2010– the Nellis Air Force Base Open House and annual Las Vegas air show.
Aviation Nation celebrates the work of America’s military and its acheivements on land, at sea and in air, space and cyberspace. The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds headlined the two-day event and were joined by several military air demonstration teams and some of the nation’s top civilian air performers.
The two-day event depicts the history of American aviation and salutes the recent accomplishments of America’s military in operations around the globe through numerous additional military and civilian ground displays. Approximately 100 aircraft covering everything from the earliest days of aviation to some of the nation’s newest military aircraft were on display.
