Kim

Hi all!

My husband and I are headed to Maui this October. We're going for the "Mardi Gras of the Pacific", as they say in Hawaii. Other than that we're looking for fun additions to our list of things to see and do. I'd like to narrow suggestions down to "affordable exploring" options. (Mostly becuase we're both poor starving pilots who really shouldn't be going on a Hawaiian vacation in the first place!)

We love to check out waterfalls, hiking, and snorkeling. However, were not much into the tourist scene. Get enough of those at work!

Any hints, tips, ideas for fun things to do, clubs, or resturants to try that are somewhat off the beaten path? Send me a note and help me out.

Thanks! -Kim

I'm getting my friend Amy's email address for ya and will PM it to you. She lives there, knows everything and even has a condo she rents out on the beach. She'll be expecting you to contact her. She'll definitely hook you up and is a great girl!

Hi Kim. I stayed nine days in Maui last June, in Kahana, on the NW corner of the island. Napili Bay is just north of there, and has great snorkling. Lahaina Harbor is on the west side and has great Snuba (tank floats on top) trips for a reasonable price. Grab a luau guide - We went to an outstanding one in Kaanapali. We did a lot of snorkling and I tried to surf when I could. Costco has great prices on cocktail ingredients. Boss Frog's is a great place to find renatl gear. And if you want to see some world-class windsurfing, go to Ho'Okipa, on the north side. With good storms, waves can reach 40 feet.

Have fun.
