PilotSpeak is the brainchild of Wayne Watts. Traveling and being away from home quite often, I saw the need to have an all-in-one internet solution for all the things we use the internet for while stuck at a hotel or at the airport awaiting passengers. I dreamed of one website where you could plan your time off during a layover, check your email, participate in forums about aviation, chat with friends and fellow members, make new friends, promote the aviation community, buy and sell used goods, have an aviation pictures gallery, read newsfeeds, and have an online aviation magazine (weblog). Hence, PilotSpeak was born, and after a lot of planning, time, effort and money, it is now a reality.

I wanted the website to be professional and user friendly, unlike places like MySpace, and yet still have a feeling of belonging to a community. I wanted it to be both useful and fun.  I also felt that it would be a great idea to include all professions and interests in the aviation community. Afterall, without airplane mechanics, air traffic controllers, FBO personnel, aircraft manufacturers, flight attendants, etc. pilots could not do their job. I feel that I have accomplished these goals on a grand scale.
